I think I'm going to take out the original block and the one bottom left and create mad houses. Alex chose the colours for the one on the right. My favourite is the one top left which took me an age to do as I was going through one of my 'can't see the angle' phases and I kept on just cutting and sewing strips to get it square.

No need to take out your original houses-- they make good contrast for the mad houses.
Wait, I'm confused. Your big house was the one wanting to have its' own quilt but you're going to take it out? Is it because the background itsn't working with the other houses you've made? Just make some more houses with busier backgrounds! And I like Nancie's idea to mix up the house syles. The more 'staid' houses will make the wonkier ones look even better :- ) Just my opinion of course!
I took the original one out just so I could see whether I was doing the right thing or not. I think it's staying!
