Trees...need a critique

Here's the "big picture". I'm not done, of course. I intend to add more trees. Right now, I need a break and I want your opinions. I think it needs more big trees (the size of the tree sitting on top of the 'D')....or should I just flood the piece with tons of smaller trees? Do the trees need to be closer together?
I'm not sure of the positioning of "Deep in the Forest" either. Should I move it to the right, under the tall Tree Everlasting....or should I line it up on the left side of the quilt...or leave it centered?
I'm in a thinking stage, so any ideas about balancing this piece will be welcome.

I would like to see at least one more of the reallly tall trees to balance them out. More of the smaller ones would be good too. It's looking really good!

I thought another 'tree everlasting' would be too much. Hmmm, I'll consider it, esp. in the lower left corner. Thanks!

Love it, Nancie. Your letters have great character.

I don't feel the need for another big tall tree. but lower left would be good for it. maybe 2/3 the length of the other one?

I look at it and think you have it extremely well layed out and balanced. sure, add more to get the feeling that you want - deep in the forest does seem to call for more trees. Maybe some more of the snow covered trees?

I like having Deep in the Forest centered or even drifting rightwards. that way you kind of get a diagonal.

The good thing about making a whole bunch of blocks to play around with is that even if you don't use them in this quilt, they can go in something else!

This looks really fun. Definately needs more trees to get the image of 'deep in the forest' working. Maybe even go for some trees bigger/wider than the one above the D.

Possibilities....

Positioning the "Deep in the Forest" center or right gives a flow of words upper left to lower right....which is how we read. Seems very organic to me.

When you said big trees, I thought BIG, like your tree on the right. Perhaps a BIG one to frame it on the left?

Some of the neutral space on your design board is nice, because it makes the letters stand out. Don't know how that fits in with your final design!

I think a variety of sizes (like your long skinny one in the middle, your tiny ones under "everlasting", you BIG one).

I really noticed your house when I enlarged the pic. Fun! Like discovering something hidden in a picture. Appropriate for a little house in the woods...hidden! :)

Wow! It is really coming together beautifully!!! Can't wait to see what you decide!

I like the position of the letters, more trees for sure...and yes, the lower left side is begging for a 2/3 size tree like T said...looks fantastic!

Another taller tree in the lower left; shift Deep In The Woods to the right... and then play with more small trees until you're happy. FABULOUS project!

I like a wide variety of sizes, so some more big ones would be nice. I would leave the Deep in the Forest where it is, I like it there. Maybe you can hide a little animal somewhere, that would be fun.

OK, just to be honest, I will tell you that the really tall brownish tree reminds me of a centipede! Maybe if it weren't quite so tall? I love it close up, but.. centipede was my first reaction. I love all the other trees, but I think you should add more. (and I love the M in Home)

This looks awesome & reminds me of a computer game my kids used to play long ago. I like all the variety of form in the lettering.
