Roses - Progress!

Going to take a short break from sewing to post this picture of the progress on my rose quilt. Oh how I wish I had a design wall!!! Alas, my white bedspread and standing on a stool has to do. I think I have another 6 roses or so before I call it good. Then filler greens, putting it together and borders. It's coming along!

p.s. Thank you for all the encouraging comments to my last post. I can't figure out how to reply directly those of you who asked questions! Grrrr.......new to blogging. When I am safely within my deadline for this project, I'll tackle that!

wow, these are stunning - you've done a great job.

You can answer questions in a post. On your own blog you can set it up so that comments come into your email and that makes it much easier to respond to questions - at least to those who aren't no-reply. but this is a group blog so none of that happens.

I love the roses - and the idea of improvisational piecing. Your sister will be thrilled I am sure.

This is so fantastic! The colors, the movement, the theme -- it's all coming together so beautifully. there's a yellow rose on the right side that has small bits in the center, gradually getting wider/larger as you get to the outer petals which looks so perfectly like a real rose.

Very wonderful!

I just recently made my own design wall by going to the hardware store and purchasing two insulating boards. They are currently propped up on my easel, hence at good working level and easy to move around.
